Finding the right funding opportunity is only the first step towards a successful Horizon Europe proposal. The real challenge often lies in finding the right partners, exchanging ideas, and building a strong consortium.
At EUcalls, we believe that funding platforms should do more than simply list calls. They should actively connect people and help turn opportunities into collaborations.
That’s exactly what happened during our latest EUcalls Consortium Building Session.
Bringing the Community Together
Following the publication of the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-04, organisations across the EUcalls network expressed their interest by using the Declare Interest feature or by maintaining detailed organisation profiles that matched the call’s requirements.
Instead of leaving interested organisations to search for partners on their own, the EUcalls team took the initiative to organise an exclusive online consortium-building session.
The goal was simple:
- Connect organisations with complementary expertise.
- Facilitate introductions between potential partners.
- Discuss project ideas.
- Identify collaboration opportunities.
- Lay the foundations for a competitive Horizon Europe proposal.
From Networking to Consortium Building
During the session, participants introduced their organisations, shared their experience in European projects, and discussed how their expertise could contribute to the objectives of the call.
The discussion quickly revealed several complementary areas of expertise, creating collaboration opportunities that may not have emerged otherwise.
As a result, the participating organisations agreed to move forward with the creation of a project consortium, with EUcalls supporting the coordination of the next steps.
This demonstrates the real value of a collaborative funding community: transforming shared interests into concrete project opportunities.
Why This Matters
One of the biggest barriers to participating in European funding programmes is not the application itself. It is finding the right partners at the right time.
By combining:
- AI-powered opportunity matching
- Detailed organisation profiles
- The Declare Interest feature
- An active network of innovators
- Facilitated consortium-building sessions
EUcalls helps organisations move beyond discovering funding opportunities and towards building successful collaborations.
This Is Just the Beginning
The Consortium Building Session for HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-04 is the first of many initiatives designed to strengthen the EUcalls community.
We plan to organise similar sessions for selected Horizon Europe, LIFE, Digital Europe, and other European funding calls where there is strong interest from our members.
Our mission as EUCalls is to help organisations not only find funding but also find each other.
