Interview with BEIA Consult International: An Innovative SME and Experienced EU Partner

1. Give us a few information about your organization

BEIA Consult International, SIEMENS partner, is a R&D performing SME, founded in 1991, and one of the leading providers of ICT solutions and services in Romania for cloud communications and IoT telemetry. BEIA is ISO certified and has experience in coordinating and participating in more than 40 R&D and Innovation projects (FP6, FP7, H2020, Eureka, etc.)

2. What inspired you to create your organization?

The inspiration has came from our strong relationship with prestigious telecommunication providers and we were motivated to open a good business in Romania in the field of telecommunication and ICT solutions and services for cloud communications and IoT telemetry.

Our mission was to support our clients’ businesses through providing them with best communication solutions at unbeatable prices.

After more than 30 years in the IT & telecommunications business we have gained our clients’ confidence and appreciation.

Satisfying most complex customer and user demands is remaining our main goal.

3. What is your field of expertise?

We are active in the following domains:

4. What is your organization’s impact on society?

Our company has an important impact on the society by creating jobs and providing income, contributing to its economic development.
As information and Communication Technology (ICT) has the power to transform society, our company's business plays a key role in developing the goals of sustainable societal development by providing the infrastructure needed to achieve them.

The impact of ICT on society is particularly significant as it is an important factor for change and the maturity of ICT is closely linked to economic growth.

Our company is developing an environmentally responsible business, having an impact from the environmental point of view, but also from the social point of view through best practice (e.g. waste management, use of alternative energy).

6. What is something your organization achieved that you are proud of?

BEIA has implemented and integrated IoT telemetry applications in the field of smart buildings (monitoring HVAC, light, smart power plugs, location based services using beacons, digital signage using ePaper), industry (automotive, logistics, manufacturing), smart city (noise, air quality, mobility), e-health (tele-diagnosis, tele-medicine, emergency communication systems for patients, nurses and doctors), environment (monitoring of water, soil and air quality), hydro energy (tele-monitoring of level and flow), solar energy (measurement of solar radiation in photo-voltaic parks, forecasting of energy production according to meteorology sensors, monitoring inverters), agriculture (frost warnings, disease alert for plants, evapo-transpiration calculations, measurement of accumulated degree days, aqua/hydroponics, urban farming), accurate water data (water sensors for hydrographical purposes, from precipitation to water level monitoring of lakes, rivers, wells), efficient water management (leak and burst detection, pressure, flow, level and well monitoring), irrigation management (including sensors for measuring soil moisture, monitor water uptake), heliports (measurement of meteorological parameters), underground (monitoring oil/gas exploration sites, mining tunnels).

Our extensive experience in projects in the field of Industry 4.0, Energy, Security, Health, Smart Agriculture, Environment Protection, Smart Cities recommend us as a strong and efficient partner within international collaborations for any European projects that refer to our expertise.

8. What is it that you are looking for, from an EU partner?

We are looking for a strong partner with a great experience in R&D European projects, who is trustworthy and efficient, who cooperate in a proper manner with all partners involved in the project.

9. How did you get to know the EUcalls platform?

We have been invited by prestigious universities and organizations from abroad and from Romania to participate at the several EU projects.

Because through this platform our company created long term partnerships with other companies and organizations in Europe and beyond.
