The Energy Efficiency Work Programme for 2020

Energy efficiency projects play a very important role, for the evolution of the worldwide society. Actions that are being taken on a yearly basis, help improve current practices and bring even more innovative solution. The European Union supports these actions through the "Energy Efficiency Work Programme for 2020".

The projects that will be implemented under the "Building in Energy Transition" and "Smart and Clean Energy for Consumers" programmes will be entitled, as a whole, to a total of 120 million euros. There are 18 different topics in these priority areas. The entire work programme will feature a new focus on ‘’Building in the energy transition’’. The aim will be to highlight how decarbonisation of buildings constitutes a major challenge for the next decade.

At the same time it will focus on the digital and smart technologies as well as innovative financing for energy efficiency and also provide support for public authorities and ensure the active involvement of consumers in the energy transition.

There are two deadlines for energy efficiency topics:

Opening on 16 July 2019 you can submit proposals for the following topics:

  • LC-SC3-B4E-1-2020 (CSA) - Towards highly energy efficient and decarbonised buildings
  • LC-SC3-B4E-5-2020 (IA) - Integrated design concepts for energy-efficient ICT in buildings
