200 Million to Respond to the Educational Challenges from the COVID

The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted societal balances. Generations today have never dealt with a similar situation. As a result, ignorance over important matters is putting a stop to the steps that need to be taken and bring solutions to the problem.

In an effort to respond to this challenge, and following the revision of the Erasmus+ 2020 Annual Work Programme, the European Commission has launched 2 new calls on August 25th 2020.

These new calls will together provide €200 million (€100 million for each call) aiming to promote this new approach. Here is a closer look at the two calls:

  1. The Call for Digital Education Readiness

These projects aim at equipping education and training systems to face the challenges presented by the recent sudden shift to online and distance learning, including supporting teachers to develop digital competences and safeguarding the inclusive nature of learning opportunities. The current COVID-19 crisis has greatly accelerated the need for modernisation and digital transformation of education and training systems across Europe.

  2. The Calls for Partnerships for Creativity

The COVID-19 crisis has hit the cultural and creative sectors particularly hard. Partnerships for Creativity aim to engage organisations in the fields of formal, informal and non-formal education, together with those from the creative and cultural sectors to stimulate European awareness and empower people of current and future generations – regardless of social and cultural background – to be successful innovators in their local environment.

Every organization included in the field of education, training and youth as well as any other socio-economic sector can participate. Organizations carrying out activities, transversal to other filed are also eligible.

Priorities of the Calls

Depending on the priority and the objectives addressed by the project, Strategic Partnerships should involve the most appropriate and diverse range of partners in order to benefit from their different experiences, profiles and specific expertise and to produce relevant and high-quality project results.

Here are the following EU project priorities that you will need to address, to be funded:

  1. Innovative practices in a digital era.
  2. Skills development and inclusion through creativity and the arts.

For these two very important calls you will want to form the most effective partnerships. The EUcalls platform has the environment and the network to help you do it.

Register your project ideas under these calls and let all the other partners see them and reach out to you. Invite organizations you can find in the EUcalls database or bring your already existing partners in the platform to work with you.

The deadline is fast approaching. Start working on your network today!
