Gender equality is a concept that grows more and more popular every single year. It is a very big priority for the European Union and of course the European Commission to start moving towards gender equality. However, the pace is quite slow.
Official statistics from the European commission’s website will show you that more than 50% of the European environment still has a lot of ground to cover to enhance gender equality. The numbers do not appear to be very large but there is a steady upgrade.
We noticed that, the closest sector in gender equality in the European Union case the health sector. At the same time, the money sector also appears to be quite balanced between the two genders. The sector that has the most problems when it comes to gender equality is the power sector. We rarely see women in power positions.
Since 2005 we do notice that there is an increase in points in all of those sectors of course. A very important factor that has contributed that this change in all the member states is of course the implementation of European projects.
Based on the gender equality index of the European Union, a composite indicator that measures the complex concept of gender equality and, based on an EU policy framework, assists in monitoring the progress of gender equality across the EU over time, a lot of calls are being announced and the number of proposals submitted every year is growing fast.
Here are some of the most important calls regarding gender equality for you to look at.

It is essential to remember that, if we want to move towards a unified and strong Europe, gender equality is the only option. We need to balance men and women in all positions. That way, we will create generations of strong men and women who will be ready to take on whatever difficult task they might have to face in the future. After all, a strong Europe is a unified Europe.
