Give us a few information about your organization.
The Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (E.E.T.A.A.) S.A, established in 1985 and operates under the provision of the Greek law of Societe Anonyme. EETAA is a private company belonging to the public sector. A board of directors elected by the general assembly governs it. EETAAs’ shareholders are public administrations like the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, the Central Union of Region of Greece, The Deposit and Loans Fund, Regional Unions of Municipalities and other social partners.
What inspired you to create your organization?
The company created under the central government to cover the need of public governance and coordination on municipal level. The need of municipalities, local government agencies and bodies, as well as public and social sector Institutions for scientific and technical support regarding the areas of Local Government and Development.
What is your field of expertise?
EETAA is engaged in practicing local and regional development and governance, life learning, social policy, public governance and administration, and lifelong learning of stakeholders. It is the implementation Agency for the provision of Social Services, Intermediate Management Body for National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) and owns a certified Life Long Learning Centre. We guide and provide knowhow to local administration in everyday practices.
What is your organization’s impact on society?
EETAA is providing support to everyday practices and reduces bureaucracy, facilitates and coordinates everyday social needs through the local authorities. Coordinates local development strategies and disparities.
What are some of your most important collaborations on EU Projects?
EETAA has been collaborated in projects like ERASMUS, LEONARDO DA VINCI, REC, INTERREG, etc.
What is something your organization achieved that you are proud of?
EETAA is a company that supports local municipal authorities providing solutions to everyday needs.
What kinds of projects do you want to work on?
The main projects EETAA is interested are projects related to interregional cooperations, city twinning’s, environmental and energy matters, society, culture, tourism, environment, information technology, technological applications, governance and administrative practices in local level.
What is it that you are looking for, from an EU partner?
We are looking for reliability, expertise and good friendly communication.
